Our Focus
We focus on providing holistic advice on a wide spectrum of family law services, including:
- antenuptial contracts
- variation of matrimonial property regimes
- guardianship issues arising from religious and cultural marriages
- same-sex rights issues and regulation of same-sex relationships
- foster parenting and adoption
- guardianship and custody of minor children
- family mediation
The Team
Our team consists of three partners – Amanda Catto, Anton Neethling and Grant Wiid - all committed to one vision, namely to provide an excellent service to clients and to maintain an unrivalled reputation. The team represents more than 22 years’ experience in Family Law.
The Partners
Amanda Catto graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 1992 with a BA LLB and completed her articles at Findlay & Tait, where she also established and grew the Family Law Department. She obtained her Masters in Family Law in 1997 and was appointed as a partner of Findlay & Tait in March 1999. She has practised exclusively in Family Law since 1996 and has also sat as a member of the Law Society of South Africa Specialist Committee on Gender Law, and the Cape Law Society Specialist Committee on Family Law. Amanda is currently the chairperson of the Cape Town Attorneys’ Association.
Anton Neethling graduated from UCT in 1999 with a BA LLB, completed his articles at Findlay and Tait and joined the Family Law Department in June 2001, since when he has worked as a specialist Family Lawyer.
Grant Wiid graduated from UCT in 2001, commenced his articles at Findlay & Tait in 2002 and joined the Family Law Department in August of 2003. A specialist Family Lawyer, Grant was also admitted as a Notary Public in March 2006.
