Light classical music for weddings and special occasions.
Elizabeth Engel - born in Cape Town and started violin at age 9. After winning a UNISA overseas scholarship, she spent some years studying in Switzerland, Germany & London. After a time back in SA, Elizabeth returned to Europe and played in the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra for 17 years. Since 1993 she has continued her teaching career and given a number of recitals. She has also formed the light classical duo “Fiddlers Two” in which Sandra Orchard has recently joined her.
Sandra Orchard - born in Cape Town and studied violin with Elsie Dawes, Elsa and Michael Dore, Pierre de Groote, Artemisio Paganini and Peter Carter. She holds violin teaching diplomas from the Royal Schools of Music, Trinity College London and the University of South Africa. She taught in Cape Town and East London for 10 years, both from home and at Selbourne College and Selbourne Primary School. Sandra was a founder member of the Eastern Cape Chamber Orchestra, has free-lanced with the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra and various ad hoc orchestra groups. She enjoys chamber music where she often plays viola.
