Concerned about the number of 'fly-by-nights' entering the wedding industry, well-known author Pam Black - founder of the highly regarded wedding resource centre Celebration House, and organiser for the past 12 years of the annual Cape Town Wedding Festival - has been the driving force behind the newly-formed Wedding & Honeymoon Association of South Africa (WAHASA).
As Pam states, weddings by their very nature are expensive affairs, and with the recent downturn in the economy, couples organising their weddings want assurance that the service providers they choose are indeed professionals in their field. As all WAHASA members have agreed to comply with a very strict Code of Conduct, those who engage the services of one of their members can rest assured, knowing that they are dealing with a reliable professional in the wedding industry.
