This month's Newsletter is devoted to telling you all about
what's been keeping us really busy these past few weeks: The 12th Cape Town
Wedding Festival, taking place at the V & A Waterfront this weekend!

The Cape Town
Wedding Festival: 26 - 28 April
The last few weeks at Celebration House have been both busy and exciting,
as we've been concentrating on putting together the final touches to The
Cape Town Wedding Festival, which we organise every year at the
V & A Waterfront.
Our Festival has been synonymous with quality since the first
one took place way back in 1996. All exhibitors are there by invitation
only and are either members of Celebration House, or V & A Waterfront
tenants. Even though at times it has meant turning away exhibitors, we
believe that it is worth it, as we want visitors to the event to feel
assured that those they will be meeting are all specialists in the wedding
industry, and therefore names they can trust.
Since our very first show we have attempted to capture the
essential ingredients of a wedding - beauty and romance - as part of our
Festival. Instead of being held in a sterile hall setting, the event is
therefore housed in marquees. This year, rather than being situated in Market Square,
they will be found on top of the Aston
Martin Building
(Breakwater Boulevard Parking Garage), at the V&A Waterfront. With the
sea now literally at our doorstep, majestic Table Mountain
as our backdrop, and impressive displays inside, we feel visitors to the
Festival cannot fail to agree that our goal of capturing the beauty and
romance of a wedding has been achieved with great success!

Festival Competition
Visitors will be eligible to enter our fabulous Festival Competition, which
this year offers some amazing prizes, ranging from the chance to hire a
Robyn Roberts wedding dress worth R4000, to a weekend for two (including
game drives) at the Garden Route Game Lodge. (All the more reason to ensure
that you attend the Festival and hand in your entry at the Celebration
House stand.) Other wonderful prizes up for grabs include overnight stays
at country hotels, dinners and picnics for two, limousine rides, and many
more. Details are listed on the Festival website, www.capetownweddingfestival.co.za.

Fashion Showcases
At the back of the large marquee (at the gazebo alongside the coffee bar
area), there will be entertainment throughout the long weekend. The main
events taking place on the stage, however, are brought to you by some of Cape Town's leading
wedding wear designers. This year they will be showcasing their beautiful
garments in a very different manner, as the models will be weaving their
way among the tables to allow the audience a closer look at the stunning
outfits.

Festival Entertainment
Throughout the weekend, a variety of musicians - from jazz trios and string
quartets to soloists - will be at the Festival to entertain you. Festival
entertainment times can be found on the website, www.capetownweddingfestival.co.za.

The Dressing-up Box
After twelve years of talking to brides, one thing we know for sure is that
they all love
trying on wedding dresses, and a feature of our Festival that has grown in
popularity each year is our 'Dressing-up Box', where you can try on wedding
gowns created by our top designers, with advice provided by a stylist.
There is no charge for this service, but as it is a popular attraction, it
is necessary to book a time-slot to avoid disappointment.

The Make-up Box
Another popular attraction is The Make-up Box, where several of our leading
make-up artists will be on hand to provide makeovers and, together with
hairstylists, offer advice on looking stunning on your wedding day. It is
also necessary to make a booking for this complimentary service, so
remember to do so when you arrive at the Festival.

The Festival Directory
On arrival, all visitors to the Festival will receive a Festival Directory,
showcasing the services of exhibitors at the event. This handy guide is
also filled with useful information on wedding planning, making it an
invaluable reference to take home with you.

'Chill-out' Zone
Festival tickets (R40 per person - under 18 free) will be in the form of a coloured wristband,
enabling you to come and go at your leisure throughout the day. And, should
the man in your life start to feel that he is on wedding-overload, he can
always 'chill out' with a cappuccino on one of the couches in the coffee
bar at the back of the marquee. We'll even provide him (in fact, all
visitors) with a complimentary copy of the 'Weekend Argus' (or a glossy
magazine) to keep him company!

Meet the Experts
One of the big advantages of attending the Wedding Festival is that it
gives you the opportunity to meet, face to face, many of those directly
involved in the wedding industry, and to see first-hand what they have to
offer, as well as how they present themselves. At this year's event,
visitors will be able to interact with a host of service providers -
exhibits include those by top venues, photographers, videographers and
leading dress designers, as well as gift registries, jewellers, cake
decorators, chocolate fountains and many more.

The Wedding & Honeymoon Association of South Africa
We are very excited that the 2008 Festival coincides with the launch of The
Wedding & Honeymoon Association of South Africa (WAHASA). Weddings by
their very nature are expensive affairs and with the recent downturn in the
economy, couples organising their weddings want assurance that the service
providers they choose are indeed professionals in their field. As all
WAHASA members have agreed to comply with a very strict Code of Conduct,
those who engage the services of one of their members can rest assured,
knowing that they are dealing with a reliable professional in the wedding
industry. (All those taking part in this year's event have been approved by
the Association.) We look forward to seeing you at the Festival!
